
Thomas Lynch was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, in 1908. He learned his soccer in Fall River.
In 1928 Tommy moved to Brooklyn, where he joined the Sheepshead Bay Football Club. He played with that club in the 1928-29 and 1929-30 seasons.
He spent the 1930-31 season with St. Mary’s Celtics.
He then joined Brooklyn Wanderers and played in seven games for the Wanderers.
After spending a period abroad, he returned to the United States before the start of the 1934-35 season when he joined Brooklyn Celtics. He later said in an interview that he had joined the Celtics because his friend Jimmy Hendren was playing for the Celtics.
In 1934 Tommy was selected to play for the United States National Team in the 1934 World Cup that was held in Italy.
