Review of the Season
The American Soccer League operated with nine teams in three conferences in the 1975 season. All the teams were scheduled to play twenty league games.

Two-time ASL champions New York Apollo relocated to Memorial Stadium in Mount Vernon, New York.

The Indiana Tigers franchise moved to Chicago and was renamed the Chicago Cats.

The new Pittsburgh Miners franchise was launched in January 1975. The club was backed by William Renton of Cleveland, Ohio. The Miners finished the season with a 1-16-3 record and folded at the end of the season.

Rhode Island Oceaneers official program
Defending champions Rhode Island Oceaneers returned for their second season in the ASL.
attracted a total of 33,198 fans for their 10 home games.

The ASL season kicked off on April 26 with four games. 5,100 fans turned up to see the Rhode Island Oceaneers hold Boston Astros to a 2-2 draw at home. Chicago Cats and Cincinnati Comets played to a 1-1 tie. Cleveland Cobras defeated Connecticut Yankees 3-1. New York Apollo beat the New Jersey Brewers 2-0 at Memorial Field in Mount Vernon.
The American Soccer League attracted a total of 287,752 fans in 118 games.
